obtaining grooved sphere from Commander Bass cold body

I have one simple question. Which class is able to obtain grooved sphere from Bass' body at Harran's Pass. Is it only possible for Praetor of for grifter as well?

There are no classes in AoD. If you mean which background - then any that became HA Praetor.

Is it different from the groved sphere that you can get right at the start with the merc or assassin if you have a perception of 8, (or mayby 7).

Yes, I meant background. And yes I mean the second sphere not that one you may obtain at the very beginning of the game, depending on your perception and opening vignette.
So in other words: can grifter follow the path of HA Praetor??

Yeah, a grifter can become a HA Praetor. Easiest way with the most free skills is to join the MG and complete all their Teron quests, then fix the mine and Gaelius will let you leave the MG and join him.

Just for clarity - you don't have to join any guild at all before fixing the mine - it's just good for your SP. Fixing the mine is something that anyone can do with enough lore skill.
