Is it possible to run from combat?

So I just got attacked by a bunch of angry homeless men, I killed two of them and decided that it might be best to run from the others, I happened to be far faster than them and managed to enter another part of town, unfortunately for me, while the hobos where unwilling to chase me into a decent part of town with armed guards, they where not willing to end combat as such I am still technically in combat and ending combat/passing my turn does not seem to help. I doubt there is a solution to this other than reloading but if there is I would love to hear it.

Seems like you have pretty high dex, you can use throwing weapon, coat it with poison, and kite them around the town. Assuming you had 3 in throwing, since high dex will likely use it to infiltrate teron's palace.
What town is it btw? I dont recall there is an ambush from angry homeless men anywhere. There is thieves and thugs in teron. Thieves, thugs and nutters in maadoran. And lastly preachers in ganezzar

yeah I was referring to some people in the maadoran slums, when I checked their names they where called something likes vagrants, or bums I think, they just kind of showed up yelled something like your not from around here, I tried to tell them I work for the guild, they called my Bs and said they where going to tear me limb from limb, they attacked me with knives, and one of them had a stick they where also unarmored wearing just togas. Anyway, I had actually done something similar to what you suggested yesterday, I don't have any points in throwing so I just poisoned my sword and started swinging. I got lucky and managed to killed them all; even so, this lad won't be going any further I think, he is too poor to purchase anything, he isn't capable enough to talk his way out of a fight, and isn't good enough at fighting to stand a chance against those who want to cause him harm. but thanks for the help anyway !

In the spirit of the game, no.
Technically, yes.
You can escape via the well and combat will end. You can then heal via salves if you have them. Enemies will start combat again if they spot you.

oof, you just need 3 impersonate and 3 (or 4) streetwise to avoid that, or just streetwise if you paid for the guide and choose to leave. with zero investment in combat skill, i believe you can get every ending in the game (but not for the achievement).
