Sun stones

I’m pretty sure sun stones and moon rays only spawned for me maybe the first two times that I activated day/night time, and it hasn’t happened since. I’m now trying to complete the Exploring the skies quest, and I am short one sun stone but I cannot find another one for the life of me. Did I miss my chance?

No you did not miss your chance. Your Sun Stone is still there. If you'd like to join the discussion on Discord, this is a topic of discussion and players (or myself) will point out the locations. If you want to complete your search, Sun Stones only appear during the day and are in the general location of the Moon Machine.
