Coop?
Not any of those ZDoom mods or Zdaemon mods, just a simple set up on the DOSbox. Please tell me how to get Coop on Doom 2 if you know!

Very, very complicated and not worth setting up. Get Chocolate Doom and Doomseeker for a similar, but easier setup. Or get Odamex.

What I use for co-op with friends is Chocolate Doom, it lets me host. In order to host, you need to forward UDP/TCP Port 2342. You host the game, and give your friend your public IP address (can be found by typing "My IP" in Google). Your friend joins your game by typing the IP address. Works the same way on a LAN, just use the "Auto Join LAN" option.

Odamex, is just join a server, much like most modern FPS games out there. Personally, I like Chocolate Doom for co-op, as it lets me play from beginning to end, and I can choose the map a friend and I left off on if we stop playing.

Not putting down Odamex, since it is my favorite client for general multiplayer.

Edit: Your best bet to un-modified classic Doom co-op is Chocolate Doom, as this port is the closest to the original DOS game.

I know this thread is old but https://allfearthesentinel.net/ offers automated free server hosting.
