Am I just really bad at secret hunting?

I've been playing Eviternity 2 lately and I haven't been able to find a single secret level exit on my own. I always end up resorting to a Youtube playthrough (because there's no walkthroughs on Doom Wiki) to find most of the secrets in any given level.

Unless you go humping every single wall in mods, you wont find any secrets.
Some mods are way better at hinting secrets like a different texture for walls, lights, etc.
Its all about luck honestly.
Even Doom is annoying to search for secrets, unless you memorize all of them.
