Originally, TNT: Evilution was going to be a free, fan-made mapset, one of the first true "megaWADs" of the DooM modding scene.
However, id Software decided to approach Team TNT and gave them an offer to let id publish the .WAD and make it a commercial release that would have to be paid for.
As a result, TNT: Evilution and Team TNT drew quite a bit of ire, being considered sellouts for letting id monetize their work.
Interesting how The Plutonia Experiment largely avoided the same kind of controversy despite being included in Final DooM all the same.
Oh yeah I forgot about all the outrage back then, but nobody talks about that nowdays. Everyone complains of how the levels look bad or play bad which I don't think is the case at all.
Honestly way preferrable than the revenant-pain elemental-archvile ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of Plutonia.
Mount Pain (which I nickname mount pain in the ass) is a hellish level that dragged for too long.
Is Revilution better? What about Plutonia 2?
