Is it possible to run a doom 2 wad in dosbox, and is there an map editors that are good for dosbox?

Just a question I have, I'm new to mapping and I just want the classic Doom 2 mapping experience.

can you tell me how to do so.

run doom with the -file parameter and then the name of the wad after that
you're going to need to set up dosbox for general use to do this, as opposed to the way the steam versions sets it up where it just runs dosbox with a script that auto runs doom and doesn't let you access the command line (though you can edit the dosbox config file for steam doom and edit the autoexec section at the bottom to include the -file parameter)
