Local multiplayer problem

I have a PS4 controller and I want to play DOOM's local multiplayer but I can't because both keyboard+mouse AND my controller are assigned to player 1!
Is there any sort of source port, game mod or even some code to change in the game's files to let me play the game's local multiplayer without needing 2 controllers?!

while you still need 2 controllers to do this, what i heard you can do is that after setting up both players with 2 controllers, you can actually just use the keyboard once the game is started to control player 1. yes it still requires 2 controllers to initialize the match, but you don't have to stick with using the controller afterwards. i think that's the best you can do with this current source port for now
