Level 19: The Citadel
Terrible, convoluted map, where common mandatory locations are labeled as secrets and indeed such placed, could not complete it without a guide,.

Even though it seems only two out of three keys are required in order to finish the stage, the red key and either the blue or the yellow. I have stumbled across they yellow one eventually, but with the blue, it is way over the top to get, especially if one aims for completion.

Yeah ^_^ The citadel was a bit of a walkaround huh? Had my fav music playin tho :P If a map really ticks ya off you can press the auto map button (tab usually ((gzdoom user here)) and type iddt that'll reveal the map making it easier to see where you need to go.

Maps in Doom 2 are very uneven though in difficulty curve.

doom 2's level design is a lot worse than map design in first game, and some maps in D2 are very poor in quality, unfortunately.

Yeah, can't help but agree, the later levels of Doom 2 are pretty bad, can't help but quit out every time I get to "The Pit".

Aye, that was the first level where I understood the skill to complete must be grind for.
