DOOM II

DOOM II

How do I play no rest for the living?
I got the Classic Complete edition and while I'm extremely happy with it I just can't figure out how to play the "no rest for the living" expansion for DOOM II. Whever I click play, it doesn't let me choose between "hell on earth" and "no rest for the living" it just goes into difficulty menu.

It says on the box that there's "no rest for the living" expansion, how do I play it?

I remember on the bfg edition when you click "new game" it lets you choose between the two.

Where does it say that, exactly? I just checked on Steam and it doesn't mention No Rest for the Living.
Just checked it on Steam, it really doesn't... But it says so on the DVD box I got, I am not mad or anything... Wish it was there to play it... But it really says so on the box that I bought.

DOOM, DOOM thy flesh consumed, DOOM II, DOOM II: No rest for the living, DOOM II master levels, Final DOOM.

Hm... Check in your game files for a file called "NERVE.wad". If it's there, it's the expansion. To launch it, you need to make sure it's in the same folder as you game's .exe, and start Doom 2 with the "-file NERVE.wad" parameter (without quotes).
Couldn't find it, weird that it's listed on the box but not in the actual pack when installed. I might actually email ID and ask them lol with the screenshot of my dvd box.

You are on your right to do so. After all, you should get what you're supposed to be buying.
Definitely will, thank you for your replies. Here's how my box looks like, just found it on the internet, maybe I'm in the wrong I dunno:

I'm really curious about knowing what happened there. Maybe they just forgot to add the file? lol

Could be lol I have no idea, it's weird that it isn't listed on the steam as well, I mean it's classic "complete" it should have 'no rest for the living' as well... Just like it says on the dvd box. I'll just email ID and post their reply here, I'm curious as well.

Well, I wouldn't call No Rest for the Living a part of the classic franchise, considering it was originally released for the Xbox Live Arcade.

You can play No rest for the living by downloading the wad or buying Doom 3 BFG edition

If it came with a disc and not just a key to redeem, you could grab the wad file off of the disc. If that's not the case then you'll probably have to do what Dandywise said.
Thanks for the replies guys, no answer from ID xD I ended up ripping it from the internet, completed it, enjoyed it of course :D

Cheers!

Where did you get it from off the internet? I know this post is a bit old but if you remember it'd be a big help. Thanks.

I'm not going to post a link for obvious reasons, but I'm pretty sure you can find it fairly easily if you do a Google search for "Doom 2 nerve.wad" or something similar.
