Question about Feri

Could somebody explain how his story arch works if he got any?
A youtube video shows him getting rescued by this Dusi fella before the last boss fight. But during my playthrough, I've only seen intermittent mentions of Feri until I picked him up from the meat keep floor and then he (or the anicka girl by choice) got promptly killed by the boss
