Also, just to be sure, you are putting points into the meta techs right? Survival should be getting easier if you do.
In my humble opinion it would be better if the Tutorial explained how every tower works, or how you should use them, but I do realize that might be a bit too much to ask, considering how many towers and traps the game has.. Maybe give a little tip of what kind of towers work really well together or something like that? The tutorial kind of "cuts short" (it tells you the basics of a TD and a TD which uses mazing but not really too much of the game itself, if you get what I mean).
For an example I recently watched Potato's video about the game and from that noticed I can toggle to see the damage numbers from towers, which I didn't know was possible. Unless I'm total idiot and it was included in the tutorial and I just somehow clicked over it without reading? Everything is possible.
Maybe it would be enough if there was a little "wiki-like" tab in-game? Full tutorial missions not necessarily needed at all. Would be nice to know more about the different alien types as well. Like what works against what etc. Of course some are pretty obvious (plasma against armor, something which ignores shields and armor is always good, etc) but still.
And yes, I am aware of the fact that I suck in this game, I'd just like it to be a bit easier to learn :)
