Fleshed out concept, and huge world - give it a try
I was going to totally skip this game until I watched TheLazyPeon's let's play and he had a "hey this is actually kinda decent" attitude.

This game is way more fun than I was expecting compared to other recent Early Access MMOs like Pantheon (barely a working game) and Ashes of Creation (just not fun and lots of jank).

I don't think any other MMORPG has come close to this scale. It evokes LOTRO where you actually feel like you are in a world, the most important part of an MMORPG.

Did it borrow some UI design ideas from BDO? Yep - the world map design being a really good idea. Trade and the AH are a lot more fun in this game than BDO though. The whole gearing system is. It borrowed the corruption breaches from New World too. I don't see a problem with using idea from other games (although they could do a little more variation).

The low ratings were the usual launch day frustration. A lot of gamers demand a perfect experience on day one of an MMORPG. They don't have much of a grasp of just how hard it is to get one up an running. Why these kids and grumpy old guys need to slam new developers I have no idea. They forget there are people behind the games I guess. Could go on a whole rant about the attitude of some people in steam reviews.

I'm impressed with this. We don't see a lot of software come out of Turkey and for 2 years' work, this is damn impressive. It's not perfect but for $20 you can hardly go wrong. I was expecting much, much less than what I got.

Yes, I agree completely. I think as a community we should be cheering on new developers into the MMO space, not trying to kick them down.

I think Quinfall is great. Is it rough around the edges? Yes. But it has exceeded my expectations. One year ago everyone was saying this game was a total scam and would never come out. These devs have proven everyone wrong. Cudos to them.
why is this post here and not a review?

I posted a review too. I left this here because I always look at the forums to see discussions about the game if I am in doubt about buying something. Because you know... discussions. More than one side.
