Open world.. B2P.. so unless it has one hell of an amazing ingame store.. gonna be another dead on arrival.. Anything B2P is a waste of your money, unless they have DEEP plans to make money somehow.. Units sold will never cover the bills.. kinda sad so many of these companies are going this way.. People still pay subs, make it sub.. or free to play with a wopper of a store.. otherwise.. it can join the pantheon of ' dead ' mmos..
especially from non-native (well established ) studios.. I mean its Turkey? Might be different.. but dear god the SHEER number of asian mmos that have come here to die is staggering.. most on their 2nd or 3rd attempt.. almost all buy to play..
Correct. MMORPGs without a sub model have to implement some sort of predatory ingame shop to earn money.
That's why this game will end up mediocre.
If they make money by keeping people playing the game (sub model), quality content at a regular basis becomes the top priority of the game.
It's not that hard to understand.
I think Fortnite, regardless of what you think about it, has remained widely popular and amazingly profitable just from selling skins and access to earning skins. If it can work for a BR it can work for an MMO. Also works well for Path of Exile to a lesser degree but still much more profitable than many games that you buy and then have to pay more for content later.
Buy to Play.. so once you own it.. you can play it.. instead of a ' free to play '.. with a sub etc.. Its a crap model that results in the game dying MOST of the time.. unless it has a predatory store involved.. New World is an example.. or if the game has some Giant Company behind it..
