I think it is about how you integrate it into society. Right now it is mostly pushed as a "Don't go here if you are a nice and caring person" place, meaning the only clients you run into is a vast amount of selfish, criminal people who don't follow society norms.

If instead you made the sex industry to something like school or hospitals, where a brothel is a valid establishment that abides to society rules and that you can only use the service if you behave properly and show respect, you'd probably get rid of most traumas.

The ones left would be the ones people cause themselves. Like hating to have sex, but signing up because they want money. Which is about as much their own fault as signing up to slaughter animals, but they are a vegetarian.

really none of it can truely work until poverty no longer exists. until we each have secure housing and food, there will be people forced into these things that they'd rather not do (which is why poverty hasnt been destroyed in spite of it being a realistic objective and basically a choice by those in power)

You're told your friends want you dead and your enemies have the best in mind for you. You're isolated from anyone who can help you and you feel as though their lies hold more security than your own thoughts and voice. It becomes a cage and the idea of working at McDonald's is no longer an actual alternative, like it ever was.
