So, remember, the next time you have a package that needs delivering, let's keep it dry and safe!
The game is built for mouse, but a controller works. I don't know if that's because the Steam Deck makes it work, or if the game does it, but it's there. But none of the button prompts are for controller, so it requires some trial and error. (For others playing: right trigger is left mouse click, left trigger is right mouse click, B (on X-box) was Inspect, A is jump.)
However, *there is no crouch button*. Crouching is useful for seeing things up close, but required only once I think (maybe twice if you include a puzzle in the library). But that one time is crucial! There's a button in the very first room that cannot be seen without crouching. So as a controller user, I couldn't get out of that room! My solution was to remap crouch to the TAB key, and then with Steam Deck I could press STEAM+D-pad-down to activate it.
The biggest issue was the right joystick being a mouse: it's waaaaay too fast. I was able to get into the settings menu and turn the sensitivity down, which made it possible to turn sensibly without doing three rotations at once, but nothing made it less sensitive on mouse interactions (the menu itself, all combination locks, and some individual puzzles). I would nudge the stick left and right and hope that it was a small enough movement to get the cursor in place.
So that's my biggest (and really only) complaint: lack of controller support makes it hard to play, and in one case it's almost impossible to solve a puzzle. It would be great to see those things addressed. (But I've finished the game now so you'd be doing it for future players, not me. :D )
Cheers.
I'll fix the typo of "Count"! Thank you!
But, the good news is that we have planned to add official controller support. So that will be added into the game in a future update!
I'm playing on mac using Parallels Desktop. I have some issues =|
* The game randomly crashes in the library location when I came closer to books with letters. It's always freezes in this place
* Code to color puzzle violet do nothing
The game is developed and tested on native Windows machines. Unfortunately, we can't guarantee that the game will work on Linux or Mac through Windows virtualization. We're a small team of 2 with limited resources, which is why we can't test and support other operating systems besides native Windows.
The code to the color puzzle is supposed to be 'purple'.
OK, I understand
Thank you very much!
