I already bought the game and really love what you gys did: do add the save system, pretty please!
Please add manual saves Nightdive. PLEASE!
For you elitists telling people to play the game exactly as the designers originally made it, please also turn off mouse aiming and reset your keyboard bindings to the original MS-DOS bindings.
I understand some people like manual saves, but it removes all the risk from playing because you can just charge in, and if you die, no big deal just hit reload. You couldn't do that in Dark Forces. I like it just the way it is: there are plenty of extra lives to be found and you just have to learn to play a bit more carefully.
It's just a simple quality of life improvement that's already in The Force Engine anyway. People who played this as a kid would be around or over 40 years old now. Some of us just want to relax and have fun with our games. Not everything has to be Dark Souls. If you want a challenge, you can always just not use the save option. But considering that there are others asking for manual saving, and the point of a remaster is to make things more accessible to players, then why not? After all, another major complaint to the original game was its default key bindings. Yet I don't see anyone demanding that we go back to the original control scheme and look up/down using the keyboard instead.
I don't much care for who's right here. It would just be nice to have it both ways, really.
btw I play this with old-school controls and no autoaim...not because it is meant to be played in this way but because I've been playing it this way. I own the original game.
