Please add manual/quick saves and cloud saving
I really looked forward to this remaster and although the price is a bit high, I would be willing to pay it, as I am a big fan of this game and franchise. But the fact that you cannot manually save during missions and that the game also does not support cloud saves really brings me to that point that I´m not buying it. I played the TFE version and thought I could support the game by buying this "official" version, but not with such limitations. I understand that these are strong personal preferences but I`m playing on different devices and mostly have only 30 minute time slots to play, so this is really a dealbreaker for me.

No manual save please. Leave the game as intended. You got lives.

No one's forcing you to use any manual save if implemented

Well someone can plead for something to be implemented, I have the rights to plead for something not to be implemented.

It's not. It's basically options for everyone vs no options and only one vision.

Yep. This is what ruined the original game all those years ago. Ho hum. The libs won't mind.

No manual saving is the biggest reason I skipped the remaster. The levels in Dark Forces are far more complicated than Doom. It's not uncommon to get stuck for hours and then drop the game altogether. Plenty of people never finished the game until TFE came along. I'm one of them.

For you elitists telling people to play the game exactly as the designers originally made it, please also turn off mouse aiming and reset your keyboard bindings to the original MS-DOS bindings.

This game is a classic because it didn't have a save system. The fact that this game had lives made the gameplay experience much more immersive because you had to play carefully in order to save as many lives as possible for the last level. This made for maximum immersion. If you did die it didn't restart you at a checkpoint wiping progress but rather you could continue on from near where you died.

I understand some people like manual saves, but it removes all the risk from playing because you can just charge in, and if you die, no big deal just hit reload. You couldn't do that in Dark Forces. I like it just the way it is: there are plenty of extra lives to be found and you just have to learn to play a bit more carefully.

It's just a simple quality of life improvement that's already in The Force Engine anyway. People who played this as a kid would be around or over 40 years old now. Some of us just want to relax and have fun with our games. Not everything has to be Dark Souls. If you want a challenge, you can always just not use the save option. But considering that there are others asking for manual saving, and the point of a remaster is to make things more accessible to players, then why not? After all, another major complaint to the original game was its default key bindings. Yet I don't see anyone demanding that we go back to the original control scheme and look up/down using the keyboard instead.

The remaster is nice, but manual saves would be even nicer :)

Adding my request for manual saves. I get respecting the original design; it could be an setting to enable/disable in Options, or maybe each manual save burns a Life, but not having to replay an entire level would be nice :)

I don't understand people talking about "how the game was originally intended". It was released in 1995 for MS-DOS and macintosh, I played it when it came out and it had a save system. I know that it was ported for consoles and then had the autosave system (consoles did not allow save systems because of low HD space).

I don't much care for who's right here. It would just be nice to have it both ways, really.
btw I play this with old-school controls and no autoaim...not because it is meant to be played in this way but because I've been playing it this way. I own the original game.
