This price makes the Battlefront collection coming out look good
I thought I was upset over the Battlefront collection that's releasing soon. 30 bucks for Battlefront 1 and 2 with nothing but old DLC packaged and the ability to have 64 player servers.

Well lo and behold these jokers release a 30 year old game for 30 bucks. Are they serious?

It's simple to get HD support in the original game with free mods...

Would you pay 10$ for a loaf or bread? No? Get a better job.

I don't eat bread.
What else you got?

Just replace "bread" with anything you would buy and "$10" with the price it costs now + a 50 to 60% mark up. Its not that hard to figure out what I am getting at. Try it.

I'd love to see what mods could make it look as good as this remaster

They've updated all of the assets, the battlefront collection just uses ai upscaling
actually it makes sense why turok 3 and this are overpriced now
Nightdive Studios was acquired by Atari for $10M on Mar 23, 2023
gg nightdive they're no longer a real one

Most people can afford it, but 30 dollars for this old game isn't worth it.

You're not looking much into the behind the scenes. Turok 3 was a special remaster. Not only Night Dive had to reverse engineer the game due to lack of source code, the game is basically a soft remake. Every asset was remodelled. World had a bunch new props and geometry. Every texture replaced. It was a much longer project and a big difference compared to Turok 1 and Turok 2 which uses exactly the same textures as the original and exactly the same models. The enhancements on those games were mostly post processing and high screen resolution.

You may not realised how much work actually went into Turok 3 project

As for this version of Dark Forces, without getting into the merit of how much work Night Dive pour into it, on the business side, the price needs to cover for expansive licenses fee the Star Wars ip costs. Disney needs their cut in any game being published with the ip. So it's not like Night Dive can charge whatever they want for a game like this. Night Dive is publishing it, but Atari and Disney are involved. There are too many companies needing a cut, which drive the price up.

How much one makes doesn't have anything to do with how foolishly they spend their money. In fact, it's typically the opposite. The less one makes the more foolish they are with their money.

Obviously I can't convince you I'm "well off" enough to afford $30.00 games so I won't even try. It doesn't matter really. I have games in my library ranging from $1.00 all the way to over $100.00. If it offers value I decide if it's worth it or not.

$30.00 for a 30 year old game that offers nothing new at all aside from modern resolution support and updated FMV's is ridiculous. We're talking about a game you can complete in 3 hours here.

As I said, you can get all of this (aside from updated FMV's I admit) for free if you own the old game. If you don't, you can purchase the old game for $5.00.

I'm not saying one is stupid if they buy this, I'm just saying it's not worth it for me, and I believe it makes the Battlefront collection look like a good deal. That's saying something lol.

Probably remastered this in like two weeks just to boost battlefront sales.
