Random black screens, and game breaking bugs

I have only played for 25 minutes so far, and I've already encountered 2 black screens (resolved by restarting the game), and now a game-breaking bug that forces me to reset the chapter.

The black screens have occurred when the game zooms in on something I've clicked. In one of the two occurrences, I simply clicked on the lady in crib lane.

The child in child lane disappeared after I clicked on her while she was hiding behind the Mr Owl statue. She did not giggle, and did not appear elsewhere afterwards.

Add another black screen to the list, this one occurred simply by clicking an arrow.

It would really help us if you could let me know what hardware you are running. And an additional question: Would you be able to try the demo? See if you get black screens there too? Really sorry for this bug and the inconvenience it has caused. We are currently working hard on resolving it but are still missing information to do this.

I am not able to try the demo, because I own the full game, Steam won't let me install the demo.

My system info:
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor (12 CPUs), ~3.7GHz
RAM: 32GB
OS: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 22621) (22621.ni_release.220506-1250)
Resolution: 3440 x 1440 (32 bit) (160Hz)
DirectX Version: DirectX 12

I gave it another go, and was able to complete the second chapter without any issues this time.

And now I have run into another black screen in chapter 3, after clicking on the book. Even though I had already viewed it 5+ times. Maybe it's worth noting that the HUD of the game remains visible? Although I can no longer interact with the UI.

I wish I could give the demo a try to see if it has the same issues.

I have the same issue. Only played it four minutes and it has soft locked on a black screen with the inventory still showing three times already.

I'm also having the black screen issue. At first I thought it would happen if I click away while an audio is happening (first time I experienced it was clicking out of a close up while someone was talking) but now it's also happened without that, just during normal gameplay.

I am also having the same issue, it black screens once in a while

I've had the black screen happen a few times. As mentioned above, I can also still see the inventory but nothing reacts. Closing and opening the game seems to allow me to continue playing. I'm using a custom gaming pc with Windows 10 at the moment and I didn't have any issues with the demo.

Patch 1.1.9 fixed this issue for me. Thanks
