lost progress
For the second time in 4 days I lost my progress. Today I opened the game, entered my saved slot, played for one game day, and then I quit. When I came back to play again, there were no saved slots. Does anyone have any solutions?

ALso, my achievements still appear on steam, proving that I did in fact play. However, the game didn't save for some reason???

Are you playing all the way through the day, even through the rewards screen? I'm not sure when exactly it saves; I think it saves as soon as you get to the reward screen. If you're quitting while they're locking up for the night, for instance, it probably hasn't saved that day yet.

If you are playing through to the rewards screen, then that sounds like a bug.

That's strange, Steam should automatically be backing up your progress through Steam Cloud as well so it's surprising that it would just disappear. Are you using any specific antivirus software on your PC, or any cleaning software like CCleaner that might be deleting your progress?

This just happened to me as well, I'm not using any antivirus that I'm aware of. Same deal with achievements saved in Steam, but save slot gone in the game (all empty). Really sick game otherwise! I just don't want to have to restart

Hmm is this on a PC with Windows 10, or PC with Windows 11, or a Steam Deck?

Also could you check the folder of your local save files, to see if anything is located here:

C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\com.flipline.papasfreezeriadeluxe\Local Store\#SharedObjects

(The "AppData" folder is sometimes hidden on Windows. If it is, from your Users folder go to View > Options > Change Folder and Search Options, then choose the View tab in that popup, then find the toggle for "Show hidden files, folders, and drives". You should now see the AppData folder, and can dive deeper into it to find the game's save files.)

In that folder you should see "papasfreezeriadeluxe1.sol", or "papasfreezeriadeluxe2.sol", or "papasfreezeriadeluxe3.sol" (one for each save slot that you've used). If you don't see the file there, could you also check Steam Cloud to see if there's a backup of your last slot?

You can view your Steam Cloud files for each game in a web browser here:
https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage

You should see Papa's Freezeria Deluxe in that list, and it may have the files above there with a Download link.

how ive been making sure it saves is doing what i need to before the next day and then just starting the next day. then you can exit mid that next day and it will save the previous day but not the half day. (ex: play through day 20, do what you need that night and then go into day 21, through the opening sequence, then just leave during that day. the game will only save day 20 and i believe the stuff from that night, not day 21 at all)

This has just happened to me. I was rank 10, opened my game, decided to change my outfit and doing so unlocked an achievement. This caused my game to freeze and i had no choice but to force shut down my laptop. Upon reopening the game, my save file was gone. I've looked for my game file and there's nothing there. It's just gone. Disappointing

You can backup your saves everytime you quit the game by going to the Freezeria folder in your Temp/Roaming files.

Always backup your saves by copying the save and putting it somewhere safe.
