How does lobby points work?

Is it better to just dump everything I own into the lobby or should I only be using the stuff that looks good and/or matches the holiday?

You can do anything you want, basically. Holiday items just give you a higher score. It doesn't have to look good at all. If you want to have a lobby full of small Halloween tables during valentine's day, there's nothing stopping you. Customers won't get upset if a piece of furniture doesn't match the holiday.

If you match the holiday you get double points, however if you have more stuff in total in the room for the customers to look at or interact with, their patience goes up and you can work on each order at a slower pace. If, however, you get the stars in minigames, you will unlock special items, these items have very high points rating, regardless of season or holiday.

Basically: Higher the points = longer their wait before deducting points
