It's that simple, port bad=sales bad. If the game hadn't required Epic accounts for no reason and didn't love crashing on AMD GPUs it would have done much better. It's not the game itself, it's the port.
This is EDF it doesn't sell crazy it sells niche, that's all it has ever bin it did just fine.
https://x.com/EDF_OFFICIAL/status/1565539771618713600 says they sold 300000 copies by September 2022.
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2291060/view/4590944278948465649 says 550000 copies by September 2024.
So that's 250000 sales between 2022 and 2024, but that includes Playstation too. If we assume sales are split evenly between PC and Playstation that's only 125000 PC sales. In reality it's probably even less than that, since we all know how well the PC port was received.
It'll have sold more copies since September, obviously, but probably not that many.
Bit in your doubting it sold that well you gave numbers higher then he said lol 550k is bigger then 300k after all even if all of those 550k sold for only $50 thats $27,500,000 now that's a grain of salt cuz sales abd stuff obviously. With steams 30% gone still in the 19,000,000 range before sales of course, not including dlc sales.
So I'd say it's likely they came out plenty on top after paying the localisation dev team and all that jazz.
Playstation sold well. PC sold significantly less well. For obvious reasons.
yeah i was wrong it's 10 million dollars.
If there's any reason at all why the game flopped it's because the port is bad when in the past they just worked and most damning of all, the mandatory Epic Games Service account and intergration which created tons of instability and problems that never existed before its inclusion.
