recommand games like EDF?

Can someone recommand me games like EDF but a little bit up to date? All games i find are more or less rogue likes or rogue lite. I don't want to play the same 3 levels over and over again. and i like to keep my progress/weapons/armor.

No not really, HD2 is much more difficult let's say lol it's not a super difficult game but it's similar to souls games in the sense that you can't be reckless even if you play on the lowest difficulty.

They both are 4 player and you can kill bugs I guess xD but I wouldn't say HD2 is similar.

Helldivers frontloads its difficulty but once you know what you're doing the higher difficulties aren't that much more difficult. EDF generally back loads its difficulty where you can play through normal/hard with whatever you find and equip barring a few particular missions. Hardest and Inferno add new additions to missions on top of making enemies more dangerous, so you actually have to think about how you approach enemy groups and with what gear. What works in 1 mission won't work in the next. For Helldivers, once you know which gear works best for a faction you tend to stick with that loadout unless you want to mix it up.

If I was rating them overall Inferno DLC 2 is significantly harder then all of HD2 🤣 true.

But HD2 even on the lowest difficulty you will never be God, it's always about keeping on your toes. But it does get easier the more you play but you won't get stronger you just a better arsenal. They are different in a lot of ways I wouldn't recommend either as a substitute for the other.

Mecha Knights: Nightmare has been described as something similar to EDF, but with mecha. Painkiller might count otherwise, particularly the boss fights.

It's procedural generated mission tho.
But you can customize the mech, trade weps, it's like air raider who pilot mech all the time (lol)
One thing that it is not EDF is there is no horde of enemies.

I like MW5 but EDF it is not. Because the missions are randomly generated, it also means you can't really premake a lance to the specifics of the mission outside of broad strokes. EDF is just as much about the missions being static as it is the hordes. You know that you'll deal with 3 hordes of ants, with a final wave of gold ants, so take gear according to that.

Thanks, i added Mecha Knights to my wishlist. I think Mechwarrior is to slow and to much tactic.

Really a problem is that there isn't a way to do EDF "but modern" the one we have is the modern one... that and world brothers (which is alot of fun tbh i love those games). EDF is allowed to be so over the top and horde-tastic because it has the graphics it has and the way it goes about it.

EDF 5 and 6 and World brothers 1 and 2 ARE the up to date EDF like games and there isn't anything that comes close.
