Corrupted save file

Hey everyone,

I was playing EDF 6 earlier, calmly making my way through a pretty tough mission, and I actually managed to beat it. Everything was fine, and I was scrolling through the rewards, checking all the new weapons I had earned. Suddenly, boom—the power in my house went out (there was a storm, and the breakers tripped).

When the power came back, I reopened the game, dreading the idea of having to redo the mission. But things got worse… I got several "error loading" messages, and when I reached the save file selection screen, I saw that my save file was corrupted. The game itself is suggesting I either play on a different save or delete this one.

I’m currently verifying the game files, hoping it’s just a minor glitch, but honestly, I’m freaking out. Has anyone had this happen before? Any advice on how to fix this without losing everything?

How far in the game were you? Mods could help recover faster but corrupted files are often not reversible by normal means.

I looked in the save directory and there's a backup folder in there. So you could try replacing your dead save with the most recent backup and it might work. I assume that's what it's for. Though the PC port of this game can be a little insane at times so you never know.
