If you need to justify to yourself the 60$ cost heres some info.
Here is the objective hard facts for EDF 6.

There are 147 missions in the base campaign (206 missions total combining Campaign, DLC 1 and DLC 2. (DLC notably have story and dialogue this time))

There are two variants of all campaign missions. The Easy/Normal/Hard Mission, and the "Replay" mission of Hardest/Inferno. This basically doubles the missions of the game if you like remixed missions.

There are sweeping improvements to all classes from EDF 5 including classes having new slots (Ranger with Grenades and utility, Wing Diver with Energy-less weapon slot, and Air Raider's Support Backpack.), and new mobility options like vaulting and parkour.

Enemy variety has been at least doubled.

Quality of Life improvements such as Damage Numbers, over the shoulder camera, improved movement on sprinting, dodge roll being immune to damage slowdown, and AoE markers for explosive weapons.

There is literally over 1000 weapons/items to collect and upgrade. (1550 Weapons with DLC included.)

Hololive EN Decoys.

And finally, a small thing but it's a good thing to mention with the current gaming industry.
It's not a live service, there is no recurring monetization. The game will never be taken away from you cause servers shut down. There is no EULA and no Playstation network requirement.

The 60$ price tag doesn't include the DLC 1 and 2 though, does it?

Good question, the DLCs were NOT included in EDF5

They are asking for 59,99€ and they will sell additional dlc's later. Insane for a low efforts garbage PC port.

Ok but why are you not editing the fact that the DLCs missions should not be included in the mission count ?

Extra bonus is since the game has been out in Japan for awhile there are less bugs in this one. Technical bugs mind you. Also we aren't gambling on some triple A where we don't know if we are getting a garbage cash grab. We want an EDF game, and I'll be damned if that isn't what we are getting here.

LOL they are already talking about DLC? The game is 2 years old. It should have the DLC bundled in by default.

How many weapons are exact duplicates of another weapon but with different damage?

If it is anything like EDF5 then none are exact duplicates. All are unique, but many go through different variant development paths. As each weapon is worked upon in universe they go from prototype stages to basic marks to advanced. Sometimes those have separate variations as well that can make the guns act out of the ordinary. For example a plasma ball launcher that splits. Or a sniper rifle that acts like a shotgun. Eventually the weapon lines are developed further into extremely powerful versions. This isn't some borderlands nonsense where it is the same weapons with different numbers on them.

This is only technically true. The majority of these are just reskinned variants with slightly different stats.

There is no where near 1550 actually unique weapons. It's well under 300 as most weapons have 2-10 upgraded versions. Even of those 300, many of the different weapons are literally just more/less spread but otherwise identical.

This is a good thread but I don't need validation. I just need the 25th to hit

EDF has always been a bit overpriced IMO, BUT I'm happy to pay as I love the gameplay and know I'll get my money's worth. If you're just going to complete campaign with 1 class and leave it then it's a steep price, but half the fun is collecting/upgrading weapons and playing on harder difficulties, which greatly improves worth.

That's more than US$60, if you're including future DLC.

Had they released the game COMPLETE -- as they rightly should, given the content is ready and the game has had a year to baste in Japan -- the 60 bux might be acceptable... As long as the price depreciated normally. However, given they are going to cynically milk DLC, as well as keep the game's price point the same until EDF7 is out, the "content" does not justify the price... Without even going into how much of that "content" is recycled or merely statistical differences on weapons.

Nor will it be here -- guaranteed. The DLC's have never been included therewith, and going by the RRP, there is no indication they've changed their tact.

Games tend to lose at least 3/4th of their value over a 2 year period as well.
Wait for a SALE, friends.

Just like me. There are TONS of beautiful games to play, i can wait some months without problems.

The price will be lowered in time.
