EDF 6 is a class based 3rd person hoard shooter with more emphasis on mobility and terrain exploitation. Classes have completely different play styles depending on the class. Levels are more set piece battles with the need for get gud or die trying mentality. Difficulty is based on your lack of HP that you have to grind for and the need for hard weapons counters for specific situations depending on the mission. The fun is based on overcoming ridiculous impossible odds.
As someone with like eighty hours, you see 100% of the game in six hours buddy.
In EDF you are the God of Destruction. EDF got vertically, this game literally got aircrafts and mechs that you can pilot and go on top of mountains and buildings or giant kaijus.
Vehicles that you can use summon as frequent as you can. Not to mention the overpowered weapons made for you to become a one man army.
From vicious giant insects who have once again come back~
We'll unleash all our forces, we won't cut them any slack~
The EDF deploys!~
EDF, on the other hand, has a completely different atmosphere. You're fighting giant hordes of enemies and it's honestly ridiculous. It takes a more comedic tone than a serious one and the weapons set it apart from other games. You have mechs vehicles, lasers, nukes, you name it, it's probably in EDF. Also EDF is VERY mod friendly, so much so, that I'm even able to take mods that I've downloaded and tweak them to suit me better. Most games DON'T do that or allow for that to be the case! In terms of replayability, EDF definitely has most games beat. It also has different difficulties so if you want to turn your brain off, you can. If you would like a bigger challenge you can also do so.
Overall EDF > HD2. HD2 just had more hype and more budget. That's it. It doesn't do anything unique or better than other games other than "graphics." I don't really care that much about graphics and I haven't since around 2014-2015. I came from an era were blocks and cubes were considered good graphics 😂 What matters the most is gameplay and most games have decent graphics. A game doesn't need to look like real life all the time.
EDF 6 is a game for EDF players. If you're not into the EDF series, just play Helldivers 2.
The EDF devs do not nerf every gun and fun into the ground patch after patch. Also, no toxic one voter kick system.
it seems you never play inferno or else you would never say HD2 is more tactical.
