skydiver? you mean wingdiver
and yes use the phalanx if you have it, or a lance just something that 1 shots the shield and does massive damage
Bring the independent of energy particle beam (any version) and fire it at them, this will force them to block it with their shield and instantly halt that shield.
Rapier's rip them apart in general, if it's not Phalanx.
Lightning Bow has solid spread to go around the shield, and you can bounce shots off the ground into their legs to immobilize them.
Lighting Crossbow or any other arc weapon that throws out multiple arcs at once can end up bypassing the shield. (It can only block in one place at a time and even the 2 shield ones only block two areas.)
Plasma guns with enough AoE can hurt them through the block.
Glepinir (energy independent ball of homing missile spam) can pin down a bunch of them at once.
Closed Beam can let you lure the shield out of position and lock it there. (They seem to think it's a big enough threat to block even when it's well clear of hitting them.) Then you can just sweep into them.
I really hope the Artillery squids don't get shields later, that's one of the things that makes them tolerable.
Hate to tell you i've seen some with shields... with 2 shields even, and 2 artiliery cannons at once as well. They are pretty rare though i'm on mission 82 and only seen the artiliery ones with shields once or twice so far.
But how the kruul with two shields?
However, if you plan to snipe them, bring an instant damage short burst weapon like Bolt Shooter from the Long Range category. You should have no problem popping their heads as they will take a shot to the head, shield, shield down, and get shot in the head again.
That being said, I was able to complete the campaign running the Bolt Shooter and Spark Vine/Whip series of weapons.
Whenever they show up in clusters, try and force them block high then immediately aim for the legs, that'll severely limit their mobility and make them much more vulnerable to flanking. Gleiphnir or Thunder Cluster are also a decent source of consistent damage as they'll come from a bunch of angles at once and open them up to chip damage.
