skydiver? you mean wingdiver

and yes use the phalanx if you have it, or a lance just something that 1 shots the shield and does massive damage

get a fencer with a big knife and send them in
Dex Jul 28, 2024 @ 9:58am

There's a few options that I've found work well vs them.

Bring the independent of energy particle beam (any version) and fire it at them, this will force them to block it with their shield and instantly halt that shield.
Rapier's rip them apart in general, if it's not Phalanx.
Lightning Bow has solid spread to go around the shield, and you can bounce shots off the ground into their legs to immobilize them.
Lighting Crossbow or any other arc weapon that throws out multiple arcs at once can end up bypassing the shield. (It can only block in one place at a time and even the 2 shield ones only block two areas.)
Plasma guns with enough AoE can hurt them through the block.
Glepinir (energy independent ball of homing missile spam) can pin down a bunch of them at once.
Closed Beam can let you lure the shield out of position and lock it there. (They seem to think it's a big enough threat to block even when it's well clear of hitting them.) Then you can just sweep into them.

I really hope the Artillery squids don't get shields later, that's one of the things that makes them tolerable.:raven:

Hate to tell you i've seen some with shields... with 2 shields even, and 2 artiliery cannons at once as well. They are pretty rare though i'm on mission 82 and only seen the artiliery ones with shields once or twice so far.

om the phalanx is insane took 2 seconds to kill one ive never used one lol
Dex Jul 28, 2024 @ 11:17am
the worst is when there are like 4 of them all grouped up together with 2 shields each, it's just an annoying spam of trying to get around the shields. I suppose a big enough AOE blast would take care of that though.

With Fencer 2x30mmCannon, first shot to te legs, second to the head. Repeat.
But how the kruul with two shields?
Sailor Gloom Jul 28, 2024 @ 11:31am
as wing diver the energy saber is amazing, they dont seem to block it, 2 quick swipes and they lose all their legs

On a Wing Diver, you should have a Spark Vine of Spark Whip weapon available on your Short Weapon category. First, shoot the head to break the shield where their head is and then proceed to break its feet.

However, if you plan to snipe them, bring an instant damage short burst weapon like Bolt Shooter from the Long Range category. You should have no problem popping their heads as they will take a shot to the head, shield, shield down, and get shot in the head again.

That being said, I was able to complete the campaign running the Bolt Shooter and Spark Vine/Whip series of weapons.

I loev how after the first time seeing them the SECOND mission tells you the strategy for how to kill them...gee thanks

For wing diver, the spear deployables are very useful against them. My usual go-to is force the shield into overhead with the lightning bow, dash to cancel the shooting animation and then instantly deploy the spear from another angle. It also works well against the two-shield ones as you can either force the second shield on cooldown as well to then deal damage with the thunder bow you can recharge back to full capacity in the meantime or if the spear connects it'll melt their health in no time.

Whenever they show up in clusters, try and force them block high then immediately aim for the legs, that'll severely limit their mobility and make them much more vulnerable to flanking. Gleiphnir or Thunder Cluster are also a decent source of consistent damage as they'll come from a bunch of angles at once and open them up to chip damage.

Go for the legs/arms first, they'll eventually lose them all and have no way to defend themselves. I thought it was a pretty easy enemy to beat with the ranger.

Just use explosions, They can't block those.
