EDF5 or 6?

I played edf 5 after finish 4 for a bit, but kinda waiting for 6. Any recommendations if I should complete 5 first or jump into 6? Cant decide, thanks

I'd complete 5 first. 6 is a sequel.

I've heard that between the two, EDF6 is the better game across the majority of players, but the real point of contention has been the EGS requirement for online play. Not that said requirement is being removed, that's one good thing. I just hope that auto installation of the store is also pulled so I can just play the game without dealing with Epic Games' bad habits. I REALLY wanna play EDF6. :)

As someone that almost exclusively plays this series in offline mode, I would recommend completing 5 before jumping to 6. The fifth game was the one that really got me hooked on the formula (enough so that I got all the other games in the series -- even Iron Rain), and so far what I've played of 6 is just an evolved version of that. By playing EDF5 first you should gain a better appreciation for the slight changes to the mechanics (mostly). Also as the above people above have pointed out, EDF6 is an actual sequel in the story department so I HIGHLY recommend beating that game beforehand (which you will not regret in the slightest). The ending to the fifth game was bonkers.

If you're cool with Epic games 6 is miles better than the fantastic 5. The new enemy types are just so much fun.

Also quite a bit of EDF 5 IS in EDF 6. Not really any point in getting 5 unless you really want to experience the story.

At the moment EDF6 needs to finish cooking. I don't have any crashes on EDF5, or any EDF game prior to 6. This game crashes too much for me.

5 then 6 since you'll notice the differences and understand the story better in 6 if you play 5 first.

Is the story of 6 as good as 5? Yeah, I said good, 5's story was absolutely stupid, but on purpose and it was hilarious.

I recommend that you complete the story missions of EDF5 before playing EDF6.
As you know, EDF5 is the sequel to EDF6, so you will enjoy it more if you understand how weapons, allies, and buildings have changed in EDF6.

id play 5 for the story and then 6. be warned, you will be thrown through a loop in edf6 lol
