How do you know it was purely emotional decision and not based on any factual information?
There is no competitor that is actually competing, and it's not due to a monopoly. The closest thing is maybe Microsoft's game pass, but it's not on the same level.
I think Epic is partly bad because they try to copy ps store and xbox store instead of steam or gog.
Announcing? He was asked in an interview about their past, so he gave an honest answer about their past. That is far from having a "giant tantrum", for just for simply answering an interview question about their past.
As to the personal attack you did in the end, that is you trying to derail the thread into non constructive fighting.
You're the one derailing the thread shilling for Epic every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 5 minutes.
Pointing out your very strange posting behaviour and questioning it is not a 'personal attack', it says alot how hard you dodge that question.
You're probably an alt account of eisburg or perhaps Timmy Tencent himself.
I personally really like his posts even if I think that Epic is trash.
His entire post history starting from 2022 is nothing but criticizing steam and praising epic, you tell me if that's playing devil's advocate.
I like hearing different points of view even if I strongly disagree.
His posts all well written and he doesn't insult anybody.
I think he contributes to a healthy discussion. I personally really like his posts. It also helps me to keep an open mind.
To be fair, Valve doesn't do nothing though.
Imagine if there was only one restaurant in town, it is clean, and the food is good and decently priced.
Then people try to compete with the restaurant by making rundown dirty trashheaps.
They COULD just make a decent restaurant and compete but no.
And how do you think that happened, maybe because Steam uses their clout with developers to prevent them from competing on price with existing games, so Epic's choice to differentiate themselves in the market is limited to other strategies.
