So when the publisher talks about things like 'crossplay' with the implementation of EOS and all that, does that mean EDF6 PC players can crossplay with EDF6 console players?

No, it means Steam can play with Epic's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ store. That's it. It should be 100% optional so Steam users can show their complete lack of support for Epic games.

So not only is it lazily and poorly implemented it's not even actual proper cross-platform crossplay, it's just cross-store-platform crossplay with only EGS users? This has to be some sort of sick joke.

Is this Cross-play with Console? From what I was reading Online this is something that they had to do to enable Cross-Play with PS4 and PS5 without having their own services for P2P matches, but I can't find anything about it being Cross-Play with PC to Console making the need for the Epic requirement on PC pointless, far as I'm aware there is no restriction to use Steam Matchmaking for cross-platform..

EDF 6 could of choose to use Sony's lobby system but then that would of required a PSN account and we know how that turned out for Helldivers 2.. but again since it was to only connect cross generation of Console as per Sony's cross-gen contract, this whole requirement is pointless as you can enable cross play with the "Epic Online Services app" without requiring a Login to Epic, for Example Gotham Knights.

I doubt EDF 6 will get a cross-platform update as EDF is notorious for releasing a game then basically abandoning it, minus a few compatibility patches when their hand is forced by social media backlash to fix something..

They mentioned crossplay in one of their posts/announcements so I assumed the game had crossplay for PC and console players at least if they're going to implement Epic's services. Turns out that's not the case, it's platform-specific (PS4 and PS5 users, PC and EGS users) and a waste of people's time with the whole account registration thing. The poor implementation of EOS doesn't help.

Knowing Bandai Namco and D3Publishers, they definitely won't update it to be actual proper cross-platform any time soon.

The game is not sold on the Epic store though.

The game is not sold on the Epic store though.

It apparently is in some regions but not others. Yet another aspect of this ♥♥♥♥ show. Nobody here really cares about what Epic has though.

Apparently, EDF6 is region locked only to Japan on EGS. Not sure about SEA and Asia regions. So going off from that, they wasted time poorly implementing EOS just for JP-only users on EGS while forcing everyone else on Steam to register or link an account to EGS.

Forgive me like this, I don't see the issue with cross-platform. For competitive shooters, I understand because of the mouse and keyboard advantage. But for a game like this, It's a team co-op game so it isn't any real advantage over the people you're playing with, and if there is some sort of advantage it's against CPU enemies anyway

Too many cheaters in pc players..would ruin the game for console players.
