cant use spacebar in chat

Hitting spacebar is like the enter or click key im game. when typing in chat spacebar will send a message instead not allowing you to type anything properly lol

I have the same issue. I’m using a wireless Xbox controller. I can press T on my keyboard to type in chat. But the second I hit space bar. It thinks I’m pressing enter. I can use under score, but wow. That’s odd

The game is fine? A few small bugs like EDF 5 had on launch day. People are complaining about epic. The reason epic is involved is because when this game was launched on PS4 and ps5 Sony wanted it cross platform. Sandlots in house networking couldn't support that, so they used epic online services. They're using the same online services for PC.

Anyway. I also have the issue of space at sending messages when I type. Seems to be a controller player problem.

Same issue! Just went through all the controls on both kb & controller - i can't find anything to even rebind aside from 'jump' if i swap to kb/m lol

If you disconnect your controller completely & only use mouse + keyboard the spacebar should then work when chatting. Why? Just why...

The workaround is to use dashes or to start the game in Steam Big Picture mode. When you open the game in Steam Big Picture mode every time you go to input text it will pop up with a Steam text field that you can use but it also adds extra steps.

Or use Sharpkeys to remap underscore to the spacebar while playing the game lol
