lots of people are. someone said its something to do with needing epic game store being up to date, but ive reinstalled epic and still got the error code.

dont just uninstall the launcher, uninstall 'epic online services' and then launch the game, it will install the correct files and you'll get into the game just fine

Sadly not the case for me, uninstalled the launcher + the "online services"... didnt boot still.
Reinstalled the launcher, made sure to have it running then start the game... didnt work either...
Currently trying a fresh install of EDF 6 without having EGS and the online services being installed.
Sadly downloading EDF takes me roughly an hour thanks to my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ISP :/

If uninstalling EOS doesnt resolve it, try to launch it with steam in offline mode first and then it should also work in online. It worked for me.

* Close Epic Launcher.
* Uninstall EOS.
* Open Epic Launcher.
* It will tell you to install EOS again, do it!
* Execute the game from Steam.

where can i find EOS to uninstall

you can find it from configuration panel, uninstall program section.

In my case above steps didn't solve situation

After uninstaling, try manually delete leftover files in "program data/epic/epiconlineservices"

i tried that, and also running revo uninstaller + ccleaner.

I mean, can you try deleting LaunchGame.exe and let steam re-download it?
I hope it has reproducibility.
