The facts about Epic Online Services (EOS)

1. This doesnt install the full Epic Store only the EOS middleware to allow crossplay. This is no different than installing any Anti Cheat or whatever other third party middleware almost every steam game comes with.
2. You dont actually need a full Epic Account. You can create a Pseudo Account with no email, username or any other info tied to it. This is no different from booting up any other online game which creates a database entry to store your profile.
3. This game only uses EOS because Valve refuses to open up Steamworks for Crossplay purposes so devs either have to cook up their own infrastructure or use EOS.
4. Plenty of games you probably already play use EOS but just didnt tell you about it. This is the EDF developers being transparent to you while others try to hide it. And you see what being honest leads to. Refer to this List (https://steamdb.info/tech/SDK/EpicOnlineServices/) to see all the Games using EOS including everybodies darlings like Hades, Elden Ring and Risk of Rain 2. So if you play those games but complain here youre being a hypocrite.

Seeing all you dumbasses complain here really makes me think you deserve being lied to.

4. These games do not forcefully make you use or install EoS. You can prove this by fully blocking EoS like I did and running these games.

Im really getting tired of your stupid takes but this is in practise no different from any other game creating an anonymous profile of your for online play or telemetric purposes when booting up any other game that connects to the internet. The only difference here is that its disclosing to you that its happening. You're only getting mad because youre getting told about what is happening for once. If youre really that paranoid you should try sending GDPR data requests to all your favorite game companies to see what data they are collecting about you without you noticing because you just mashed away the TOS.

Incorrect it's already been checked. You don't even know what process explorer is and you think you know what you are talking about 😂 Other companies are absolutely not doing this.

It's forced because Valves Multiplayer networking called Steamworks doesnt allow for crossplay. Companies either have to make their own infrastructure (Capcom ID, PSN Accounts etc) or use EOS which Epic lets anyone use for free. Sandlot being a small studio of only 15 People wanted Crossplay and opted for the second option.

I never said you need an account, where did I say to do that? Also, other games require you to make an account if you need to and even then, most will allow you to play without one. Other EoS games don't do this, wanna know how I know? BECAUSE ALL EPIC SERVICES ARE PHYSICALLY BLOCKED ON MY PC! Bet you didn't know you could do that did you, you tech illiterate? It will not install, it will not send data, whatever on my PC. It is 100%, blocked. I can't even download and install EoS because I've blocked everything EoS. Again, bet you didn't know you could do that did you? You're getting made because your 2 brain cells can't comprehend basic tech things 😂

Every single game you play that goes online, has an account attributed to it, be it an MMO, Free to play or anything similar, even STEAM collects data.

In addition, social media, youtube, twitch, etc, collects data.
