Sorry for late reply. It is related to the other Mage's Science Adventure series. Especially Steins:Gate and Steins;gate 0. You can play anonymous;code independently, but you'll miss all the major references and some of the enemies are even using the abilities that straight up from Chaos;head and chaos;child. The technologies you see in the game are the developed version from robotic;note.

So, it is recommended to play all other mage's science adventure series first before playing this one. Or, if you dont want to play all of them, at least play steins;gate and steins;gate 0 because some major events are directly tied to those 2 games.

Not OP, but thx for the reply!

Another question if i may. Without playing any of the previous games, does Anonymous Code have a clear and understandable story that is enjoyable by itself?
Well, I would politely disagree with the notion, that it is necessary to know the other parts of the series. I only saw Steins;Gate the anime series, and own Steins;Gate Zero (which I personally found lacking), and I thoroughly enjoyed ANONYMOUS;CODE. Whithout knowledge of the other games.
I´d say, if you have an interest in sci-fi, and like visual novels, go for it. You get a world, that is explained enough to enjoy it. I don´t feel, that I have missed anything, after playing through.
