[PSA] Voiced Dialogue fix for Steam Deck/Linux Users
Please note I've spent a grand total of five minutes in-game so far, so I can't verify whether there are still crashes or other issues related to audio. Video playback is still broken by default, showing just black screens - movies can be skipped, but you might want to either wait for Valve to do some sort of Linux-compatible transcoding or try using an alternative Proton distribution like GE-Proton.

To get the voice lines to play properly, the game needs a proper XAudio 2.9 dll - by default Proton uses an open-source alternative which doesn't appear to cut it in this case.

The simplest solution is to grab Microsoft's own XAudio 2.9 redistributable, extract the DLL, and place it in the game directory:

- Get the Xaudio2 NuGet Redistributable[www.nuget.org] by clicking Download Package on the right side of the page. NuGet is a Microsoft service and this package is safe to download.

- Open the downloaded package with Ark or your archive manager of choice - it's essentially a zip file. Navigate to /build/native/release/bin/x86/ inside the archive and extract xaudio2_9redist.dll into the game's install directory ([your SteamLibrary location]/steamapps/common/AC/), next to game.exe, MAGESgamelauncher.exe, etc.

- Rename the extracted dll to XAudio2_9.dll

- Optionally, add
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="XAudio2_9.dll=n" %command%
to the game's launch options. This ensures that Proton will load the new DLL rather than its built-in one, although in my testing Proton Experimental loaded the new one regardless.

- Relaunch the game - voiced dialogue should now play normally! Again, I'll have to update this guide if crash issues are still present, but hey, it's already better than it was.

This was a great easy fix for voices but the Movies dont work still. No sound, black screen. For the OP, no sound, black screen. For the loading videos, fades to black but sound still plays, but screen comes back after the video ends in a few secs
