What makes this game hard?

All of those use cheap tactics to make them "hard" And i want to make sure everyone isnt lying about final doom being hard when there could be some cheap tactic

The sheer number of enemies and the puzzles required to unlock secret maps of the levels/maps in order to complete some of them.

Episode One is Easy, Final DOOM is much harder.

I struggled like hell on nightmare mode when i played final doom, it comes with TNT Evilution and Plutonia Experiement. Guarantee you, you are going to lose your mind when playing it. Killing a hell alot of enemies and puzzles you have to do in order to reach the level. And if you are lucky, you will find secret levels which leads to MORE levels you have to go through fighting enemies and solve puzzles.

Its by far the hardest i ever played through.

Five levels in and Plutonia + TNT is wrecking my ♥♥♥♥. Granted, I'm playing around with some fairly difficult WADS and pk3's, but even still...

The level design and monster placements are a trip into the mind(s) of some very undervalued geniuses.
