The original Raidou was hard because it was unbalanced, not because it was some masterclass in Souls-like punishment. The AI had the reaction time of a stoned raccoon, your demon partners made life choices worse than Twitter users, and half the mechanics felt like they were testing you, not the character.
So yeah, let people have difficulty options. You don’t lose your hardcore badge just because someone else got to enjoy the story without sacrificing their sanity. Besides, if someone really wants to keep the masochism alive, just crank it to hard mode and go no items, no saves, full-edge run. The game’s not stopping you.
But hey, keep crying about “baby mode” while the rest of us play the game and keep our hair.
