Quest 2 Air Link Launch Issues [FIXED]
I'm using my usual VR setup: Quest 2 connected to Steam on my PC via Oculus Air Link. Everything is vanilla (not using OVR or Virtual Desktop) and no launch settings have been added. I have tried the default XR Oculus runtime and I've also tried SteamVR as the default runtime. No matter what I update, restart, or variable in general I try to change, Help Wanted 2 refuses to launch properly. In the headset, it just lingers forever on the picture for the game that says "Next Up", and my monitor is displaying the game as a black screen.

Other VR games, including the first HW, work fine, and my PC specs aren't optimal but they're not too far off that they aren't good enough; they're at least high enough to start the game, and I know this because launching the game through Steam Link instead of Air Link launches the game perfectly fine, but then the Steam Link issues come in (no Oculus controls, no headset audio).

It's worth pointing out that after a certain update (not the most recent one, this one started a while ago), Beat Saber does the exact same thing of "launch game, game says Next Up, Next Up never goes away and my monitor shows Beat Saber just sitting there with no input." I never found a fix for this, and none of the solutions for HW2 are working either.

If anyone has a fix for this, please put it below.

EDIT 12/15: As of a few minutes ago, I finally got it to boot correctly. I only changed three things, everything else is the same.

* I opened the Oculus Desktop app and went to Settings>General>OpenXR Runtime and made Oculus the default runtime again.
* I right clicked Help Wanted 2 in my Library, went to Properties, and under "Launch Options" added the argument (-vrmode steam) minus the parenthesis.

If these don't fix it for you too, then the only other variable I changed from last night is I went into OVR's settings and made OVR start when SteamVR does and unticked an option along the lines of "Force SteamVR (Disable Oculus API)", restarting SteamVR a ton along the way. If the previous suggestions don't help, then maybe installing OVR (for free) and trying both options of that setting will help.

NOTE: I didn't get any further than the EULA for friend reasons, so I don't actually know what the state of the game will be past it working now. For all I know, it's going to show Index controls. If that possibility sounds distracting, then maybe consider waiting to see what Steel Wool says about this.

EDIT 12/16: So far so good! The Oculus patch isn't out yet, but the game is running great with seemingly no side effects. Hopefully it's fixed soon and none of the above is required to play the game.

this needs to be pinned, before i was getting judders and lag on the steam vr through steam link and virtual desktop, the moment i did this and opened up air link (in cable mode) no lag no judders and runs super smooth!
