It's not just a question of solo or friends etc...

It's because if it's online only, and someday they decide to disconnect their servers once and for all, the game would be gone forever.

So hopefully, it's playable offline in single player.

I hope so too! I have experience with 3 games - Darkspore, Evolve and School Of Dragons - they were shutdown permanently with no way to be able to play them again.

Totally agree, I was merely making fun of myself at my own expense.
Online only is terrible idea from a gamer perspective.
