- Setting a personal best in any sector or lap
- Successfully overtake a driver/Failing to overtake a driver
- Successfully defending his position against another driver/Get overtaken by a driver
The race preparation that determines starting confidence will depend on three factors, all to be build up during the free practices sessions of the weekend:
- Track acclimatation account for 25%
- Car knowledge account for another 25%
- The remaining 50% comes from your car setup.
When you get maximum race preparation (ie. perfect track acclimation, car knowledge and setup) you’ll get 68% of the bar, so your driver will need to do actions on track to get his confidence higher, eventually reaching peak level if all goes well.
Taken from the guides section here on steam.
You get max 68% of the bar from that. The rest has to be gained during qualic and race by racing good.
1 lap (out of box) all conserve
2 lap all normal or maybe light blue (2 dots) tire and -.2 battery
3 lap all max out
4 lap return to box all conserve
you could even do 5
1 lap (out of box) all conserve
2 lap all conserve (1 dots) tire normal gasoline and -1 battery
3 lap normal (3 dots) tire normal gasoline and -.2 battery
4 lap all max
5 lap return box
each lap better than the previous will boost morale (but traffic in 5 lap can give you trouble)
so when you do the 2nd run (3 lap only) he will have the best morale he can have i guess, Theoretically you could repeat step one to boost even more but I am not sure it's worth it.
but it feels a cheap tactic to me.
Granted I dont understand how tyres work in 23. In 22 you only had a lap or 2 at optimal grip. Guess its different in 23.
the first 4-5 lap of the first try is just to boost pilot confidence you won't use any of those times
you bust driver confidence from 68% to purple if possible and THAN you have only 1 tentative lap at the end of the time and you do the usual 3 lap 1 out 1 lap 1 in
that is the only way to make best lap the first 4-5 were ONLY to fake the driver into believing he keep improving.
