Ok thx, is this therefore due to a combination of this part having been researched as "intense" and that only one driver was using these parts during the race weekend?
because i'm working it out: it would be a progress of just 6% per racing weekend, and it would take over a season and a half to fully familiarize with those pars..if this were happening at every track...thing is there is good reason why i want "intense" research for parts.. and i'm not sure this penalty? is either fair or realistic......
Never noticed if it took longer when part was intense researched but do know it is slower with only one car using part. I always run practice myself so don't know if it is bug if you simulate.
Also the way I research is to intense first iteration followed by normal to apply the boost and only produce the second design. This way you get more progress while keeping the production cost down.
Yeah just for knowledge really, i can confirm this started a new game and have installed parts all developed using "intense" mode, and the car parts knowledge, is increasing at an incredibly slow rate again, and again though i question how fair this is. guess it depends on how much influence car parts knowledge has on race pace performance and results
With regards Parts knowledge, its the same as track familiarity. It just adds upto the driver confidence which increases the driver ability boost. This is what affects the cars/drivers pace during the race. So really it is only a small amount of your cars pace. Can be negated by your driver making a mistake and is confidence decreasing during the race. So in short does not affect the cars pace directly, but boosts pace through driver confidence which can fluctuate during race anyway.
Right thx, not sure how you know this but seems feasibly logical, but why then should it affect rate of part knowledge increase, for intense developed parts only?, the synopsis on the part research screen states. it allows your engineers to gather knowledge faster for future iterations, that's my understanding of it.. So presumably that means that future designs will carry a bonus to development. and or that the rate of increases increases chronologically? really it could also of been that the part knowledge increase was higher, same that's fine i guess but it's actually much lower. still not sure i'm totally understanding this game...it's not cheap either so....,,,ie intense development VS regular development
