I really enjoy micro-managing the races, but that might please other people;
thanks for the link
Its one of the things Motorsport Manager did wrong. Hope they dont just copy it.
What they should implement would be some drivers coming in with their own personal sponsors. Which is different from attracting sponsors. This would practically be paid drivers. Which would exist for some young drivers. And once they start signing for better teams they would stop having those sponsors or money attached to it would decrease.
That´s because once a driver is racing for a very strong team, sponsors tend to deal with the team instead of the driver. Because its the car that makes most of the difference in F1.
But its absolutely real that some sponsors will enter F1 on the back of young drivers which they decide to support. This also works as a way to get the driver a seat and brake into the grid.
The marketability concept from Motorsport Manager was wrong. Because it makes no sense that a team like Ferrari would have no good sponsors just because they race a couple dull drivers. Even if they would be slower an odd season....its Ferrari. Sponsors know the cameras will be on them.
I'll argue for fun Ferrari signed Hamilton because of his increased Marketability.
You think so?
I am going to tell you:
Ferrari is a way bigger name vs Lewis. Its an entirely different ball game.
The thing with Ferrari is that they like to have the top driver. They will be looking for Max too if ever possible. That and any upcoming quick drivers.
Its why they signed Prost, would have wanted Ayrton, signed Michael, Alonso, Vettel.
Now they had a chance to go for Lewis and of course he is one of the drivers they would like.
I am going to tell you that only Alonso shifted sponsors at Ferrari :)
You could see this very clearly with Santander being their main sponsor with Alonso. Both on his clothes and on the racing car.
But this was very specific with Alonso. And be sure, Santander had to pay the same as others would to be on the car. What I imagine is that Alonso asked for them to have priority in sponsor deals. So Ferrari would always let them bid over everyone else.
But this is very specific.
And you need to understand how the business really works.
For instance, when Hamilton was a rookie, he had to wear the Santander stuff which was Alonso´s sponsor ;)
Alonso is a perfect example how this really works.
He is not exactly the most flamboyant guy on the grid lol
But he just comes with these private connections to a huge bank. And they are very willing to support him in whatever he does.
So....they are always behind him.
And its not like he gets that many interviews or helps generating further sponsorship deals ;)
He comes with that specific deal around himself and that´s how it is.
the graphics look a lot better but still behind the times for a 2024 game.
the mentality system looks interesting, i hope they manage to balance it well.
i'm glad you can now simulate a race, starting with a crappy team in 23 it was just a grind getting the first couple of seasons out of the way until you became competitive.
possibly improved AI for other teams and your teams simulations, setting up tyres for the race etc
the negative:
denuvo is being used again
the pants GUI still looks the same
no mention of ithese: improving the pit team training system, an option to disable the cutscenes, more control over fuel and pace options other than a few presets (i don't follow irl F1 anymore so maybe this is how it works)
They just need to reduce training effectiveness (which they can then reduce the need for rest) and give the players proper warnings about events which might change fatigue level and were not planned.
The race simulation is something they need to work a bit. I did not see yet any F1 game getting this right. In a management game you need an option to run through your race fast with just watching highlights. This is how Football Manager got so successful. None wants to play several seasons and watch entire 90m matches. Same for F1 races. We need some way that they will take like 15 minutes most of watching the best race highlights. With player intervening reacting to some of those highlights (ex: it starts raining...player may adjust; safety car or red flag....player may adjust; Lost position / Gained position....player may adjust)
But its not possible to be adjusting driver behavior / strategies every minute for almost 2 hours / race. This is never going to be a successful management game. Because managers want to see new drivers blossom. Want to see the effects of new development. Want to try bringing the worst team all the way up. And you need to go through several seasons.
Learn this lesson and we will have a proper F1 management game.
Understand this is not a racing game and cant be. It cant compete with the real racing games. It should never try.
So you rather they hold you to ransom? nevermind the quality, just buy it or else you will have no game.....Well all i can say,is .Good to see some people have their priorities straight ..p
It's not holding me ransom if i enjoy the game lol. I just realize its going to take time for it to get better.
