It's nice to see that you'll now be able to sign new drivers on for next season instead of immediately.
If the racing game is aloud a feature more suited to a management game, that the management game isn't aloud. I'll eat my hat.
Why would they allow Codemasters to do it but not Frontier?
Rumours were the game was supposed to be made on an in house engine, but they changed their mind 10 months before release and had to start from scratch in UE4.
Don't know if that's true or not. But, certainly something meant 2022 was started late and was on an extremely tight deadline.
Games like this might take a few years to develop. So, we're still on the back foot. And, largely what we've seen announced is stuff that should have been in 2022 from the off.
Like contracts, tracking F2 results, lifespan on parts, etc, etc.
We don't have things like 'own team' as some of the fundamental basics still had to be implemented and they are a higher priority. Nothing to do with licensing.
Exactly. I have no doubt that 23 is not the full yearly iteration people are expecting, but rather the finished version of 22. We aren't seeing created teams, and probably many other big wishlist items, because 23 is them simply finishing their concept for 22, which may not have included created teams.
Assuming this series hasn't been scrapped by then, 24 is likely the soonest you'll see the iteration you'd expect from a yearly title.
The licencing and graphics we're pretty sweet for the first 1/2 races but then bugs and lack of different situations started to become obvious each race after.
This game needs a complete rework, hopefully Big Ram is right and we'll see a different game in 24.
I'd kinda be ok without a 'create a team' if they just packed it out with features and depth like a PC Manager game normally is. Should be on the level where you can tell a driver when they're slower on certain corners, where they can push, have us sat in the technical area where we can make changes on the fly, obviously with option to go full screen like current version.... Is this asking for too much for $40/50?
When not at a race weekend, surly, from the creators of RC Tycoon, Jurassic World & Planet Zoo... Why are we not seeing some sort of similar style environment? Obviously it can't be as varied or as big as we don't need attractions but I was surprised with the lack of Team World Map where you'd do all upgrades, training, building development, HR etc.
With things like 'Drive to Survive' and increased US market they should be allocating a much bigger budget than currently evident.
Fingers crossed for 2024, but from what we've seen or heard so far, i'll only be getting this if the reviews are somehow overwhelming or its on a 70% off offer.
