Can someone explain to me why
Because both cars are from the same team, have the same parts and engine and is the 2nd car always weaker than the 1st car or is there always a weaker team car if both are built the same way ?
Is there any connection to this
Someone builds two cars with the same parts and engine and one is weaker? - Even in the automotive market everyone leaving the factory has the same requirements

i imagine it has something to do with car 1 is number 1 in the list so would naturally be 1st car 2 2nd as its number 2. Unless you make car 2 faster with better upgrades it will always be classed 2nd when it comes to equal parts as its car 2. it makes no difference on track as hamilton is in car 2 and usually out performs russell with equal parts.

Comes down to the drivers. Typically the better driver is in Car 1. If the cars are the same then it comes down to driver skill.

It's not a matter of classifying the car 1 or 2, but yes, there is always one of the cars weaker than the other and they are both from the same team, and it has nothing to do with the skills of the drivers because I already did the test with two pilots with identical skills, my strange thing is having two cars of the team being one weaker to the other result of that when we are going to do the analysis of cars comparing them to the other teams the 2 car is always late on the podium , my question is whether it makes sense to have two cars from the same team and built differently with one weaker than the other.

But that's what I'm referring to, because the teams' cars don't start the game all the same being the same team and not start with a car weaker than the other, because what changes the result of each are the skills of the drivers, but so the engine of the car also does it being weaker than the other.

It's just the cars being ranked in order of part ability. There are 20 cars on the grid and so 20 front wings.

It's absolutely nothing complex or mysterious or linked to anything other than grid order.

What decides the grid order in teams with equals parts is just car 1 and car 2.

So, if your front wing is the best in the game and you have it equipped on both cars, they will be ranked 1st and 2nd. 1st being awarded to your car 1. 2nd being awarded to your car 2.

Stick a better front wing on your car 2 and it should jump to 1st and your car 1 dropped to 2nd.

They can't logically or mathematically be both awarded as 1st and 1st out of a ranking system that goes from 1st to 20th.

Hope that helps!

so i keep wondering why norris has car number 2 at mclaren. makes no sense at all. on all official f1 websites, he sits in the first car.
is mclaren bugged?

I am not referring to whether it is car 1 or 2 , I am referring to the engine characteristics of each car , car 2 of the teams appears as the weakest of the starting teams in any ranking , that is , it appears below customized, and proof of that is when we make a new part, car 1 goes up, for example, 2 places in the high speed rank and car 2 goes up 4, that is, car 2 starts the game being weaker, this Mclaren one I also don't understand how the main driver appears driving the secondary car and he needs new parts to reach the same level as car 1
In other words, if you don't make new parts, car nº 2 will always be weaker than car nº 1 .. being both built by the same team, I don't understand how, the difference should only be in who drives them and not in the cars
Or are the values they present analyzed by the performance of the car itself and not its root construction? - Because the performance of the car depends on the driver and not on the construction of the car, both being identical, if that's the case..I understand

you can't have 2 cars that are ranked the same can you... you know since there is 20 cars on the grid they can't both be rank 1

Why is Sergio Perez always slower then Max Verstappen in real life when they are in the same car......
