Anyway, how many tyre are allocated for weekend that includes sprint race? Is it the same as the allocation for regular race weekend?
Agreed, there's no benefit beyond part/track acclimatization. Also you put extra wear on engine/ERS/gearbox just to do this...
Edit:
From F1's website they said:
"The cars will then enter Parc Ferme after FP1, before being released for FP2, which will take place on Saturday morning. Here, they will be able to use one set of tyres, of their choice.
They will then return to Parc Ferme ahead of F1 Sprint, before being placed back in the quarantined environment overnight ahead of Sunday’s race."
Which makes me think that setup could be adjusted.
