My drivers are so SLOW in the race: 2s per lap slower than rivals on similar worn tyres
Just completed first race of career in Bahrain as Mercedes and my drivers finished 10th and 11th with no car issues and all drivers doing 2 stops. No overheating tyres and pushing harder on the mediums, but my fastest lap was 2.8 seconds slower than Stroll in an Aston Martin during the race having qualified ahead of him easily enough. The Alpine's were also much faster and even a Haas... I tried again with red bull in the Jeddah scenario to see if it happened with the fastest team and had a similar issue, where the merc, aston and ferrari's were all much quicker than both drivers despite trying 3 times with different strategies and aggression levels... anyone else had this issue or have any idea how to fix?

From what I have experienced so far the AI's race pace is stupid fast. I started a career with McLaren and Piastry has not even had a slight chance of finishing above 17th in a race. It seems that the AI is always on quali lap times and are melting the tyres off the cars every lap.

Yes. Experiencing the same with Alfa Romeo. The race pace is very bad especially the first 5 laps the race. Then it stabilizes a bit.

Its good Means its not easy to win a championship in a year also its because the ai teams now upgrade their car really quick which is good

Im all for making it more difficult to win. But when I out qualify a car and then loose over 2 seconds in the first lap to them in the race because i dont overcook my tyres the entire fist ;ap os a little broken. At least make it difficult in ways that are reasonable. Not just let the AI break the game to be that much faster than the player.

BTW - Watch the AI's tyre deg over the first 3 or 4 laps. You can clearly see they are running full attack.

Alfa Romeo is the 19 and 20 car as performance do you expect to be faster than others?
I am playing as well as Alfa Romeo (not only that i even change 1 pilot with a young promise that is rated only 75) it's extremely hard to do well, i like it.

Driving alpha T ATM and its so slow haas is eating our lunch and I got passed by alpha Romeo what in the fried chicken is this AI ?

it is because of the defending option if you set it to defending it all cost the back the cras behind up

Same issue here. I'm Mercedes and Alpine was eating me for lunch during Bahrain and Jeddah.

the game is quite hard even if people still bashing it as easy obviously it need more dept but it will come with ages

This year you really need to keep your tyre temp optimal. The few times I dipped over I lost about 0.3 sec/lap. Also got a point as mclaren on the first race, so it's certainly doable.

my 1st race he finished last lokl Norris was 17th - even had a Red flag

That seems to be most of the issue for me. The AI do not need to worry about tyre temps at all. As soon as i move to standard pace settings I am easily loosing about 5 tenths a lap to the car behind. Even if I managed to out qualify them. TBH I do not think I have had a race so far when I have gained places on the track. It has only been because of crashes or retirements.

Literally this!! It's impossible to keep up with your rivals and I have yet to gain any positions even with red flag and safety car strats
