Report a translation problem
Left stick moves you front, back, left, right.
Right stick lets you look around.
Pushing in on the left stick while moving makes you sprint.
Pushing in on the right stick makes you punch, or use equipped item.
The "A" button makes you jump.
The "Y" button lets you pick up an item or harvest while targeting (centering object in center of screen)
Right Trigger makes you punch, or use equipped item.
Pressing the View button brings up the crafting menu.
Pressing the Menu button brings up the Game menu.
Pressing up on the D pad makes you use the item in slot 1.
Pressing right on the D pad makes you use item in slot 2.
Pressing down on the D pad makes you use item in slot 3.
Pressing left on the D pad makes you use item in slot 4.
These are the basics as I have experienced it as of now. none of the other buttons seem to have any effect on the game as of yet. It's possible that I may find more operations as I progress through the game.
It is probably just the Steam default controller layout that loads on games. Many have such similar schemes that the above work by default.
In their own Discord for the game they have said that it is planned.
Game has barely been out a month, and features like controller support typically don't happen until later in the development cycle. It's not like this is being designed for console gamers.
