Cannot Start The Game

Hey, I recently wanted to get back into playing this game and so I re-downloaded it. However when ever I try to open it up, I am given a crash and error saying that it could not be opened. I have tried looking up solutions, but I have not been able to find one that works.

Here is the error I was given:
"Error Code: 30005 (StartService failed with 1275.)"

I have been able to get on and play this game before, so I don't understand why it is not letting me play now. I have tried opening it through steam, through the shortcut, and even messing around with the .exe files in the folder itself, seeing if it just wasn't selecting the correct one.

If you know how to solve this, I would appreciate it.

That error code is windows 11's incompatibility with easy anti-cheat. so unfortunately you're sh*te out of luck until those two companies get their sh*t together and fix their software. Upgrade your system to windows 10, or play solo without enabling EAC.

How would I be able to do that as I do plan to just play it solo

Follow this guide to get rid of EAC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGLlWAenOGc

and then launch the game directly from its executable file, rather than the launcher (it's found here): <wherever you installed steam>\steamapps\common\The Front\ProjectWar\Binaries\Win64\TheFront.exe

You may have to block the game from accessing the internet.

I have tried following that and other tutorials, but I get to a point in which I cannot continue anymore. For some reason I cannot open the EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe file (which is what your tutorial and others do), it automatically closes when I try. Because of this, I tried looking up the issue, but that did not work as well. Idk what to do

Alright. Open a command window with admin privileges, type cd\ and hit enter, then type "EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe qa-factory-reset" without the " " and hit enter. That will fully remove EAC from your system.

If that doesn't work, then I'm afraid something has gone very wrong in your operating system and you're probably going to have to back up all your files, format your system drive and reinstall windows.

If you go to ....\Steam\steamapps\common\The Front\ProjectWar\Binaries\Win64 there is TheFront.exe. Right-click and Run it with admin rights and seems to work ok for me. Can choose both game modes and Adventure appears to be working fine.
