What I'm saying is that the game's idea is the same as 7 Days to Die but better. Since the creation of 7 Days to Die no other developer/company made something similar as 7 Days to Die, it's unique in the planet. This game, The Front, is this game. It's nice to see because even if I love 7 Days to Die the game (performance-like) is horrible, but devs don't give too much ♥♥♥♥ because it's unique, no other game did the same, so there's no competition and that's it.
I think I'm gonna purchase The Front even if I know nothing about the game just because it looks like, and it feels like, 7 Days to Die, and 7 Days to Die is a game that I know everything about it =)
Huh?
I'd prefer an actually tower defense game instead of the requirement for a maze with traps.
The game is like any one of over 30 such games. The difference is no Zombies and no magic.
Open World, Sandbox, Active Tower Defense, Crafting, Building, Exploration, FPS, Online Coop, Online PvP, MMO. When I list a few of those genres I mean core game play of the game, I don't mean "CS2 is a tower defense because CT defends the base against Ts" or "Cities: Skylines is building because you build buildings".
I'm asking you to list that 30 games you know that have, as core mechanic and genre, the same genre as both games The Front, 7 Days to Die, and Rust. I'm waiting.
This game feels completely like 7 Days to Die, it's an open world, explorer, with crafting and building, and the most important core mechanic is the active tower defense, how is this game not 7 Days to Die? Rust is similar, the difference is that Rust have 90% of it's players playing PvP while in 7 Days to Die 90% of it's players are playing PvE.
Rust is focused on PvP, the PvE content is weak and only exists to provoke players to find each other and fight each other, they are just bait. The most important core mechanic of Rust is the RAID, since the game is focused in PvP players will build bases to protect their loot while the enemies will try to invade your base and take your things.
7 Days to Die is focused on PvE, the PvP content is weak and only friends trying to fight each other plays. the most important core mechanic of 7 Days to Die is the Active Tower Defense because every 7th day of the week multiple waves of zombies will hunt you to kill you, the idea is to build a base and get stronger as better as possible during the week to defend against the invasion.
Now... I didn't play The Front yet, I saw some videos and trailers on Steam, and based on those this game is highly similar to 7 Days to Die, you explore the world and gather resources to get stronger, you build a base while fighting (difference between Passive Tower Defense and Active Tower Defense) to protect yourself and your things while fighting a huge wave of enemies.
Explain to me how this game is NOT 7 Days to Die and Rust?
it's similar to 7 Days for sure, and ive
It's similar to 7 Days for sure, with all the crafting tables. I've not really explored any of the POIs in The Front at all, have no interest in PVP and play the game on a only pve server. My thing is the tower defence aspect and I can tell you right now that aspect of the game is a total copy of the Orcs Must Die !! franchise, which absolutely nobody realises.
Orcs Must Die series are also Active Tower Defense, which is the same as Dungeon Defenders and 7 Days to Die, but Orc Must Die series are purely Active Tower Defense and nothing more, 7 Days to Die have all the other aspects that reflects in The Front.
I didn't play The Front yet, I'm waiting for Steam Winter Sale (I think it's next week) to see if the game comes with a 10% or 15% off, after playing the game I'll have a better idea of what the game is, but what will make me purchase this game is 7 Days to Die, in my point of view The Front is 7 Days to Die but better, or more, or 7 Days to Die 2.
The base defense in Night of the Dead is far superior to this though....
In fact it's such an obvious copy that I think NotD devs would have a case for getting royalties or something.....lol
And maybe Icarus devs could get something for the skill tree copy.
