Crafting benches not recognizing materials
Playing solo for about 30 hours now, and occasionally the crafting benches just don't recognize materials loaded. It's pretty much all benches, and if you come back 10-20 minutes later it will recognize them. I solved one challenge by having multiple smelters, one might not recognize the components but the other would, but I can't do this for all benches. Any ideas?

I haven't been seeing that issue.

But I do know that if you already have a very large batch underway in a crafting station, it reserves all the materials. Even though they're in the station, they're all earmarked for the work order underway. If you want to free them up, you have to cancel that workorder out of the production queue.

I thought of that, so cancelled all production, empty bench, load new resources, try to craft and shows 0/2 (for example) even though there 50 iron ingots (for example)

Oh, that is weird.

Bugged bench? maybe destroy it, place another?

Are you sure it's iron? the lead and iron ingots are wayyy too close in color. Most lead I see is grey, not brown. It's an odd choice by the devs.

Yep doesn't just happen with iron, I've had it happen with almost everything from stone to oil

Same here, it happens to me aswel.
What I tend to do is just take out the resources and put them in another one ( for smelting the ores, I’m not bothering to build abseilend workbench etc.)
For smelting this is the best way to get around that bug.
When it happens in anything other that the smelter, I go out in the world and start collecting more ores.

+1 happens to me constantly.

Add resources to table/building
Craft something
Table/building runs out of materials / fuel
Can't craft using that table/building for some time

I get that with the barrels of oil, frequently doesnt recognise any in the inventory

Its a simple fix for this issue , in furnace that craft iron for ex and he wont recognize more iron , add stone , or sand and craft 1 of smth else and it will work after you give another task , it will unlock iron again. And its a universal fix for this issue , just change task, to unlock initial task . Ofc , where you can do that

This happens a lot for me.

I would describe it as "jamming" in my case. It usually occurs after I craft a number of items, the device just stops recognizing valid ingredients in its storage as such and will not produce more. It is sometimes possible to "unjam" a system by crafting a different recipe that does not require any of the jammed input components. This seems to reset the recognition logic and once again admits the ingredients.

Problem with making something else to unjam it is for example the pyrolyzer. I only have two things I can make in it and both require oil which is the resource it is not recognizing

I've played 7 hours and it's happened at least twice to me already. It's nearly as confusing has having 20 different workstations that use mostly the same materials to craft 1-3 things each. So far this game is more of an unfun inventory management sim than anything else.

I am hoping at high levels they add a option to pull materials from nearby containers/stations when crafting
